And Ocala's Downtown Business Alliance Bring Live Video To Ocala's Holiday Ferris Wheel, Riders Can Share Thier Experience OCALA, FLORIDA—Nov. 23, 2010 -This holiday season Ocala residents can get their 5 minutes of fame when they ride the antique Ferris wheel on The Square in downtown Ocala. The Ocala Downtown Business Alliance (DBA) wanted to give Ferris wheel riders the option to share their experience with their friends and family by streaming live video of the Ferris wheel. When Ocala DBA contacted Sun Digital, Ocala's IT Specialists since 1996, for technical assistance of the web cam and video streaming, it was happy to help. The Sun Digital offices are located in the Concord Building in downtown Ocala, where it already has wireless internet established.
When contact by the DBA ”we were happy to donate the equipment and a technical hand in helping to promote Downtown Ocala,” said Jim Bolain, owner of Sun Digital, Inc. Riders can let their friends and family know when they are on going to be at the Ferris wheel and they can view them riding it live on the internet on the Ocala DBA home page. Additionally, the Ocala Electric Utility who provides free wireless access to patrons of local businesses downtown, is providing a link to the video directly on the launch page for its wireless internet users to access.
Sun Digital will add another camera that streams video of a broader view of Downtown Ocala and the Holiday Ferris wheel, so viewers can enjoy the holiday festivities any time, day or night.
